We are always looking to find partners who can appreciate the work we have done to date and understand how exciting a partnership could be.
We've been understanding, performing, and creating Shakespeare since 2003, and have created over 15 new plays and countless workshops. We believe we have achieved so much that now needs to be shared with the wider world. We are looking for partnerships to help do this.
The past few Covid years have severely tested the old model of the Arts, and a new underbelly of R&D can exist alongside the current provision of conventional theatre, resulting in cross-regeneration and growth. A Partnership between 2 independent organisations, focused on their areas of expertise whilst encouraging a healthy cross-fertilisation to flourish, would help restore and maintain the essence of what Shakespeare and Theatre have always been about.
Partnership opportunities
For everyone
The world, right now, badly needs assistance – the world of the old Gods has gone, yet still we subscribe to its artefacts, political structures, societal conventions etc., despite being less and less fit for continued use.
Theatre, and especially the theatre of Shakespeare, still has an enormous amount to offer us in these times of great change – but only if we change our perceptions of what it is we call Theatre, what we believe to be ‘Shakespeare’.
Likewise, education as it now stands has to move away from just telling people what they need, to a more enlightened and effective way of understanding, one centred on people discovering for themselves what being human is and could be, all about.
For Shakespeare
We cannot allow his genius and his work to ossify and gradually lose their significance and meaning. Keeping his work alive by just performing the same plays over and over again serves only to have the opposite effect, in our opinion.
Shakespeare, in whatever form he offers us, in whatever understanding he gives us, must be a living thing, and not a museum piece.
Even more so, it is essential that his work continues to be mined, and revitalized, for the true potential of what Shakespeare has given to us to be finally realized.
For Us
Whilst we could quite easily continue to develop our work in the same way as we have always done, deep down we would feel to have ultimately failed in what we set out to do.
We have reaped great benefits from being allowed to develop our work almost without any external restrictions, but there comes a point where being innovative, but also insular, can ultimately be self-defeating.
Severely diminished reserves of finances, time, and effort will sooner or later cause our work to come to a halt. We are determined not to let that happen. Having access to our future partner’s resources could turn what we have already developed into incredibly rich cultural assets, assets that could have a significant impact on people far and wide over time.
For The Partnership
A Partnership, innovative in everything it does, whilst retaining a firm bedrock in where it has come out of and in the world it operates in, that sets standards for others to follow in its wake, is what we think such a Partnership could realistically set out to do.
Having 2 independent organisations charged with working with and alongside each other can create the right balance between staying focused on their areas of expertise whilst encouraging a healthy cross-fertilisation to flourish.
Above all, a Partnership would help restore and maintain the essence of what Shakespeare and Theatre have always been about – being alive and not moribund, serving all communities and not just Theatre-paying customers, enriching individuals through understanding of their own lives and not through experts and didactic authorities, both living and dead.
